GENERAL

DECA STORE

Thank you for supporting the DECA Store, however, if you are a customer, you will need to WAIT UNTIL THE STORE OPENS BEFORE COMING UPSTAIRS TO THE 2ND FLOOR.  The 2nd floor of B Building is "OFF LIMITS".  You may purchase your products/drinks when the store opens, then must leave asap.  DO NOT WAIT OUTSIDE OF B-201 or form a line.  You will be asked to leave.  If rules are not followed, the store will be closed.  Thank you.    - S. VARIETY SHOW TALENT CONTEST

Do you want to be a star?  If you enjoy singing, playing music, or just performing, then sign up in M102 as soon as possible.  The first informational meeting will be held on Sept. 26, 2003, during lunch recess in M102.  Sign up to be apart of this year's Talent Show   - D. Barnes

JUNIORS & SENIORS

A representative from UH-Manoa will be in the library on Tuesday, September 30 at 8:30 a.m.  UH-Manoa is a large, public university located in the Manoa Valley on Oahu.  Interested students should come to GRAC for a pass.   - T. Kawada

JUNIORS & SENIORS

Just a reminder:  Students need to give their teachers at least 24 hr. notice prior to attending a college or career presentation.  Students are not automatically released from class to attend presentations.  Teachers have the final word as to whether students are allowed to attend.   - T. Kawada

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation encourages seniors to apply at www.coca-colascholars.org by October 31st.  Finalists can receive anywhere from $4,000 - $20,000 in scholarships.   - T. Kawada

FROSH MALE CHEERLEADERS - YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE!

We will be meeting in C202 Tuesday 9-23-03, Thursday 9-25-03, and Friday 9-26-03 during lunch recess @ 12:05 p.m. We need to get rollin'!!   - J. Martino

ART CLUB

Just a reminder, the last day to pay your club dues of $10.00 is next week Tuesday (9/30).  In order to be in the club's yearbook photo your dues must be paid.  This Saturday (9/27) from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, we will be having our first glass etching work session.  If you haven't already signed up for this activity, you may do so in H-101.   - S. JUNIOR CLASS COUNCIL

Juniors...there will be a class council meeting on Thursday, September 25 during lunch recess in U101.  If you would like to order lunch, drop off your lunch cards at U101 before Thursday morning recess.  Also, please help your class in selling homecoming chilli tickets.  You may pick them up from Kristen Bautista or after the class council meeting.   - L. WINTER BALL COMMITTEE CHAIRS

PSAT/NMSQT

Registration is still being taken for the PSAT/NMSQT which will be held on Saturday, October 18 at 7:30 a.m. at the WHS Cafeteria. The PSAT/NMSQT is open to students in grades 9-11.  Interested students should register in GRAC.  Cost is $11.00.  Both cash and checks are being accepted.  Checks should be made payable to WHS.   - T. What types of music do you wanna jam to at prom?  Drop off a few suggestions or stay and be a part of the decision making on Thrusda, 1st recess at H-105.   - K. Kelly

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

2004 TOYOTA COMMUNITY SCHOLARS:  for seniors with outstanding academic credentials, leadership and community service.  National winners receive scholarships valued at $10,000 - $20,000.  Interested students should submit a personal data sheet or resume to Mrs. Kawada by Friday, November 14.      - T. BREAKING THE ICE:

KFVE (Channel 5) and local teen magazines, Sassy and G, have developed a 1/2 hr. TV special, BREAKING THE ICE, that will provide teens an open forum to speak on the issues they face on drug usage.  Tonight, eight to ten students from public and private high school across the State of Hawaii are being represented and offer their insight into a day in their lives, sharing with viewers how drugs have affected them and/or those they know, how easy it is to get drugs, why they got involved in drugs (if they did), etc.  The show will follow Edgy Lee's movie, ICE: Hawai'i's Crystal Meth Epidemic,from 8 - 8:30 pm on KFVE, Channel 5.   - D. SPORTS

GIRL'S SOCCER SIGN-UPS

All girls interested in trying out for the JV or Varsity soccer teams are to meet at the gym on Thursday, (9/25) at 12 noon to sign up with coach.  Please be prompt.   - K. Yamase

FRESHMEN CLASS COUNCIL MEETING

All officers, committee chairs, & class reps, be sure to attend your Class Council meeting Thurs., 9/25, in Q202 during lunch recess. Bring your lunch card to Q202 during morning recess if you wish to order lunch for the meeting.   - J. Iokepa

FACULTY & STAFF

SBCP

Departments will be meeting this afternoon to work on SBCP.  This will be an extended day (until 3:30).  Please follow the directions in the timeline and checklist.  Any department needing assistance may request the help of SBCP cadre members.  Also, we are exploring the possibility of teachers earning PD credit, so please take attendance at the meeting.  Thank you.   - H.
