SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS:

 

Gromet Foundation Scholarship for students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.  Deadline Friday, October 30, 2003.  Come to GRAC for more details.

SAE Engineering Scholarship for students intending to earn a degree in engineering or a related science.  Deadline December 1, 2003.  Come to GRAC for more details.

"TRUE LIFE OF A JAGUAR" TV PROGRAM

 

Hey Juniors!  Watch our TV show, "True Life of a Jaguar", starring Brandt Tanaka, Waiaka Kealamakia, Darla Mizuno, and Bernard Kuheana.  This month's show is Dreams and Goals.  Showtimes are 9/6, Saturday at 11:00 a.m., 9/11, Thursday at 7:30 p.m., 9/13, Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and 9/16, Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. on channel 54.  Watch your fellow classmates shine!   - M. SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

 

Horatio Alger Association for students who have demonstrated integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity.  Applicants must have a 2.0 GPA and require financial assistance to attend college.  Apply at www.horatioalger.org.  Application deadline is October 15.    - T. Kawada

SENIOR LITTLE LEAGUE CHAMPIONS PARADE & STEAK FRY:

 

Come out and support our Senior L.L. World Series Champions, this Sunday at 11 a.m.  The victory parade which runs from below the county bldg., travels mauka on Pauahi, turns right by Longs Drugs and ends at the entrance to Hilo Hongwanji's Sangha Hall, will honor the players, coaches, and parents.  Tickets for the steak fry are $10 per person are on sale at Sports Line, Aiona Car Sales and will also be available at the door.      - D. HOBBY PICTURES

 

Yearbook is looking for hobby pictures (rodeo, hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling, paint ball, etc.)  of you and your friends.  Submit to Mrs. King (D201) by Tuesday, September 30th.  Make sure your name is on the back of the photo.  Pictures will be returned at the end of the year.  Don't miss this opportunity to get your picture in the yearbook.    - P. CLASS OF 2007 MALE CHEERLEADERS

 

Tanyalee Switzer is having a meeting with the Freshman Male Cheerleaders in C202 on Tuesday, September 16, during morning recess. If the four who signed up are the only ones who show, we will have to forfeit participation in this year's Homecoming Male Cheerleading Competition. C'mon you guys, this is your last chance to show the Waiakea High School 'ohana what you're made of!! Mahalo!   - J. Martino
