DECA STORE WILL BE CLOSING FOR THE YEAR

The DECA Store will be closing on May 20th (or until products are depleted from inventory).  Thank you to those who have supported the store throughout this school year.  Look for our new products for the upcoming school year:  yogurt, hot cereal and more lean pockets.  Have a great remainder of the year and Congratulations to all seniors! - S. OPEN AN ACCOUNT AND WIN A HOME THEATER SYSTEM!

LIBRARY CLOSED FOR PULAMA POST SURVEY

The library will be closed on Thursday, May 20th and Friday May 21st from 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. for the Pulama Post Survey.  Students who receive a pass to take this survey should immediately report to the library.  - R. Agsalda

SOPHOMORES

Sophomores, we need your help with Commencement Clean Up, which will take place immediately after the ceremonies on June 5th from 8:30-11:00 p.m.  Sign up with Mara Oda, Annie Lung or Mrs. King.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. King (D 201) ASAP. - P. King

YEARBOOK DISTRIBUTION

Yearbooks will be distributed this Friday (5/21) in D-201 at the following times:  Seniors-before school (7:30-8:10), Juniors-morning recess, Sophomores-lunch, Freshmen-after school (2:01-2:30).  Students must clear any obligations (library, cafeteria, registrar's office, etc.) to receive their book.  Extra yearbooks will be sold (Seniors-before school, Juniors-recess, etc.) for $45 (CASH ONLY) to students without any obligations.  Yearbooks not picked up on Friday may be picked up next week during morning and lunch recess ONLY.  (Faculty:  your yearbooks will be delivered during periods 3 & 5 on Friday.)  As a reminder, students should NOT be signing yearbooks during class time, failure to adhere to this policy may result in disciplinary action. - P. SENIOR ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today is Ethnic Appreciation Day! If you are dressed in an ethnic costume that is not your own, come down to the Quad during Lunch and compete in our Costume Contest.

Thursday is Sport's Day.  Tomorrow, wear the uniform of your favorite sports team.  Then, watch our Senior Women revive a WHS Senior Tradition as they compete in Powder Puff Football during lunch in the Quad.  Best wishes and malama ponoto Coach David, Coach Troy, and Referee Chris. - S. Naungayan

HILO JAYCEES SCHOLARSHIP

Available to seniors accepted to either Hawaii Community College, UH-Hilo or UH-Manoa.  Statement of Community Involvement, statement of need, three letters of recommendation & transcript required.  Preference given to children of Hilo Jaycees Members or Roosters.  Applications available in GRAC.  Value:  $500.00.  Deadline:  Postmarked by June 1st. - T. ATTENDANCE

Make it a practice to turn in requests to excuse COLUMN B absences promptly after your return.  Do not wait until the last week of school to turn in notes as it may be unexcusable (Column A).  See the Attendance Coordinator if you have any questions.   - M. Yamashita

FINAL SATURDAY SCHOOL

The final Saturday School of the year will be held this Saturday, 5/22.  Check with each of your teachers for your actual absence dates.  Know the classes for which you need to earn Saturday School credits.  Must be in line by 8:00 a.m.  No late entry.  Bring a valid ID for entry, work to do and study supplies.  Dress standards apply.   - M. DRAMA CLUB PERFORMANCE

The WHS Drama Club is giving a performance of several  humorous poems on Wednesday, May 19, 2004, in M102 at  6:30 P.M.  While the poems are aimed at younger children , we invite anyone interested to attend.  - D. Barnes

You will not be able to get your Commencement tickets after song practice on Wednesday, May 19 if you have any outstanding debts to the school (ie. class dues, library or cafeteria fees, etc.).  Bring receipt with you if you have only recently paid. - J. Kruse

SOPHOMORE CLASS AWARDS CEREMONY SLIDE SHOW

The sophomore class officers are making the end of the year slide show.  If anybody has pictures to contribute please bring them to C204 by Friday, May 21, 2004.  Please write your name on the back of the pictures and they will be returned later. - K. Uyeda

PULAMA POST SURVEY

Kü Ha'aheo/Pulama Project will be putting passes in your boxes on May 19th to give to students in your first class of the day.  These passes are for those students who are enrolled in Pulama Project, that have taken the pre-survey and NEED to take the post survey.  This survey will be given on May 20th and 21st at 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the library.  The survey is very important to our program and shouldn't take more than one (1) hour to do.  If the student(s) are not in your class, please put into Ku Ha'aheo box immediately.  Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.  If you have any questions and/or concerns, please come to C101 or call 933-0550.     - R.
