SENIOR CLASS BLOOD DRIVE

The Senior Class Blood Drive will be held in the library from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. today.  Student donors are asked to promptly report to the library at their scheduled time.    - T. Kawada

INFECTIOUS PLEASURE

Infectious Pleasure floats and sundaes will infect you with pleasure.  Pre-sale tickets can be bought for $1.50 floats and $2.00 sundaes at B201 or any period 3 DECA member.  Infectious Pleasure sweets and treats can by picked up Thursday, April 29 during morning and lunch recess at B201. - S. DECA SCRUMPTIOUS MUNCHIES

Want a Sweet Delicious Treat? "Scrumptious Munchies" are selling presale tickets.  Dirt cups $1.00, Party, Party Mix $2.00.  Go to B201 at Recess or See any PD.1 DECA Student.  Pick Up DATE is May 4th. both recesses. - S. Kojima

SATURDAY SCHOOL

The 3rd of 5 Saturday Schools this semester will be held this Saturday, 4/24, at WHS Cafeteria.  Check with each of your teachers for your actual absence dates.  Know the classes for which you need to earn Saturday School credits.  Must be in line by 8:00 a.m.-NO LATE ENTRY; have a valid ID; dress standards apply; bring work to do. - M. NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK

This is National Library Week!  Did you know that there are more public libraries in the U.S. than there are McDonald's?  Americans go to libraries more than twice as often as they go to the movies?   Americans spend more than three times as much on salty snacks as they do on public libraries?  Celebrate your libraries.

However, due to the Blood Drive today and a librarians' meeting on Thursday, your school library will be closed for two days this week. - G. Kobayashi

NO PARKING AREAS

Students are not allowed to park in the Staff Parking Area adjacent to the Student Parking Lot.  This area is marked clearly with "Staff Parking Only" and fronts the Industrial Arts Classrooms (J-Bldg.).  Another "No Parking Area" is on the "Hamakua end"(North) of the Student Parking Lot.  This area is reserved for the Construction crew working on R-Bldg..  Heavy equipment, building supplies and tools are constantly being loaded/unloaded and moved in this area.  If your vehicle is damaged while parked in this area, the construction company and/or WHS will not be liable.  Vehicles parked in these areas will be warned once and towed away the second. License numbers of illegally parked vehicles have been recorded. - S. Ozaki

YOUTH CHALLENGE ACADEMY

Youth Challenge Academy will do an orientation for any interested students/faculty in GRAC on Tuesday, 4/27, at 10:30 a.m.

Youth Challenge Academy targets at-risk ("at-promise") high school students between the ages of 16 -18.  Mission: "To establish a comprehensive intervention program to assist students based on National Guard & DOE requirements.  Objectives: "To provide students the opportunity to satisfactorily complete the Competency-Based High School Equivalecy Diploma Program.  To provide students the opportunity to earn credits to be mainstreamed back to their home school to earn a high school diploma". Please refer interested/appropriate students.  The next class will be admitted on 7/21/04 and is only conducted twice annually. - J. Ching

SOPHOMORE CLASS RINGS

Sophomore class rings will be distributed on Wednesday, April 21 during lunch recess at the library.  Please bring the balance due.  Checks should be made out to Balfour Company.  If you have lost your receipt, please see Mari Takemoto-Chock or Mrs. Kobayashi in the library.  You may also place an order for a ring with a $50 deposit.  Ring catalogs are available at the library - G. 2004 HAWAII TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION FAIR

The HTE Fair is a statewide exhibit for intermediate and high school students in the induatrial education classes.  The following students are commended for their participation and placement in the electricity & electronics division:  Tyron Hamamoto, Chad Higa, Paige Kurosawa, Samuel Miller, Scott Nozaki, Lauren Seu, Christian Souza, & Chad Yoshida.  Project entries are on display in the library. - M. SOPHOMORE CLASS T-SHIRT -

ALL SOPHOMORES!  The deadline for turning in your t-shirt orders has been extended until Friday, April 23, 2004!  Please show your spirit and support our class!  The design features wonderful artwork provided by fellow sopohomores.  T-shirts are going for $14.00 pre-sale, so come and drop your order form and payment to Jon Yu or Mrs. Uyeda by the 23rd.  This is your last chance until our Senior year! - K. LEO CLUB MEMBERS

There will be a Leleiwi Beach clean-up on Tuesday, April 20 from 4:00-5:00PM.  Sign up in B102.  Also to everyone who signed up to bring Blood Drive Foods, drop off on Tuesday in the Library by 8:00AM.  - J. Hosaka

PIHANA NA MAMO

Tickets are available from Pihana Na Mamo club members or see Mrs. Kotaki in P-18.  Kalua Plate tickets are for May Day Ho'olaule'a on 5/3/04.  Pick-up for Holy Bakery pies will also be done during Ho'olaule'a in D-102 (Mrs. DeMello's room.)  You can purchase tickets up until Friday, April 30.  Mahalo for supporting the Pihana Na Mamo program. - D. HULA PRACTICE:

Calling ALL STAFF & FORMER STAFF - hula practice will be on M-T-Th, 2:30pm, in D103, for the next 2 wks.  Hope to see many of you there.  COME AND JOIN IN THE FUN!  If needed, more sessions can be made available, just let me know. - M. Masaki
