Don Barnes' miniatures of the British crown jewels, Shakespeare's house, and Irish village,

and Buckingham, Balmoral and other British castles are now in the library's display  case. - G. Kobayashi

MATH LEAGUE

Congratulations to the Math League members!  The Blue Team placed 1st in last Wednesday's meet at Honoka'a.  Individual high scorers for the meet were:  Isaiah Nakano, Jonathan Yu, Kristen Bautista and Curtis Ogi.  The math team also took 1st place overall for this year.  Individual high scorers among the participating schools for this year were all from Waiakea:  1st-Curtis Ogi, 2nd-Kristin Bautista, and 3rd-Jonathan Yu.  Great Job! - L. DECA STORE CLOSED

The DECA Store and Waiakea SFF Student Credit Union will be closed on Friday, April 16th. - S. Kojima

SENIORS

Cap & Gown distribution day is Thursday, April 15.  Please be prepared to show your student ID when you come to pick up your cap/gown/accessory order during lunch recess at the WHS library.  You are asked to line up outside of the library, as only 15-20 students will be allowed into the library at one time, to avoid congestion.  Obligations must be cleared for you to pick up your order.  You are not allowed to pick up an order for another student.  Refer to the morning bulletin on Friday, April 16, if you are unable to pick up your order on Thursday.  Thank you for your cooperation.   - J. BARNEY FUJIMOTO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:  for any seniors planning to enroll at any of the University of Hawaii campuses.  Resume, essay, photo & transcript required.  Applications available in GRAC.  Value:  $1,000.  Deadline:  April 30th.

FRIENDS OF THE PANA'EWA ZOO:  for seniors who intend to pursue a degree in one of the life sciences (zoology, biology, botany, physical anthropology, etc.).  Transcript, personal essay, 1,000-1,500 word essay, two letters of recommendation required.  Applications available in GRAC.  Value:  $500.  Deadline:  April 30th.  - T. 'AHA 'ÖPIO O OHA SUMMER YOUTH LEGISLATURE

Any juniors of Hawaiian ancestry interested in writing laws and attending a one-week legislative session at the state capital from June 27-July 2, 2004, come to C 101 for an application.  Apps are due on Friday, April 16, 2004.  There is no cost for this once-in-a-lifetime experience and you will stay at the UH dorms. - P. BOY'S BASKETBALL MEETING

All boys interested in trying out for basketball for next year are to meet at the gym on Wednesday, April 14th at 5:00pm. - K. Yamase

CHEERLEADING TRYOUT MEETING

There will be a mandatory meeting for all students and their parents interested in trying out for the cheer squad for next year.  The meeting will be held in Portable 21 at 5:30pm on Thursday, April 15th.  Please be prompt since important information will be discussed. - K. Yamase

Please come p/u your tickets and turn-in money for SpringFest during LUNCH RECESS.  This will also be the only meeting for Merrie Monarch community service project.  Attendance is mandatory IF you are participating (points to be earned.) - D. Kotaki

Tickets are available from Pihana Na Mamo club members or see Mrs. Kotaki in P-18.  Kalua Plate tickets are for May Day Ho'olaule'a on 5/3/04.  Pick-up for Holy Bakery pies will also be done during Ho'olaule'a in D-102 (Mrs. DeMello's room.)  You can purchase tickets up until Friday, April 30.  Mahalo for supporting the Pihana Na Mamo program. - D. SENIOR ENGLISH TEACHERS

Please assist us in completing the dissemination of 4th Quarter Suspension Notices to all seniors.  Some classes/students did not receive the written notice from Mr. Koga before spring break.  We will be attempting to complete class distributions this week.  If you receive a packet in your mailbox, please give notices & collect signatures from individual students who were absent from class when information was handed out.  Return signature sheets to Ms. Kruse.  Mahalo. - J.
