BLOOD DRIVE PERMISSION FORMS

Please turn in your permission forms ASAP to any Blood Drive Committee Member or to Mrs. Sakai-Kawada in GRAC.  Any 17 or 18 year old who is interested in becoming a donor, pick-up a permission form in E-103 or in GRAC. - T. Kawada

SOPHOMORE CLASS T-SHIRT

Hey Sophomores!  Our class t-shirt is back by popular demand!  Order forms are being distributed through your English classes.  If you do not receive one, pick one up from Mrs. Uyeda in C-204.  Form and payment are due to Jon Yu or Mrs. Uyeda by Friday, April 9th!  Cost is $14 for sizes S, M, L, XL, $15 for XXL and up.  This is the LAST TIME class shirts will be sold until our senior year!  The design is modified to include Waiakea High School.  Show your class spirit and order while you still can!  Shirts bought after the presale will cost a dollar more. - K. SCHOLARSHIPS

HAWAII ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS:  for seniors with the goal of pursuing a career in broadcasting in Hawaii.  Applications available on-line at www.hawaiibroadcasters.com.  Letter of recommendation should be sent along with the application as an attachment.  More information available in GRAC.   Deadline:  April 16th.

HAWAII KOREAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE:  for seniors with 50% or more Korean ancestry, who are residents of Hawaii & enrolling full-time in an accredited 4 year college in fall of 2004.  Personal essay & two letters of recommendation required.  Applications available in GRAC.  Value:  3 - $1,000 awards.  Deadline:  June 1st.

UH-MANOA COLLEGE OF TROPICAL AGRICULTURE & HUMAN RESOURCES:  for seniors intending to major in CTAHR programs.  Essay required.  Applications & more information available in GRAC.  Value:  10 - $2,000 scholarships.  Deadline:  May 15th. - T. Kawada

MAHALO WARRIORS:

WHS placed ninth out of 27 schools in the recent Verizon Phone Book Recycling Contest  with a total of 1,419 recycled phone books turned in.  We won a $50 check from Verizon.  The winning school was St. Joseph Elementary with 4,343 phone books.     - D. Tanabe

HEALTH PLAN OPEN ENROLLMENT

Open enrollment for Hawaii Employer-Union Health Benefits Trust Fund (EUTF) is being held through the month of April.  All eligible employees seeking to enroll, change or cancel current enrollment in health benefit plans must do so during this time and will become effective July 1, 2004.  Please see any office staff to acknowledge receipt of your 2004 EUTF information form.  If the information reflected on your form is correct and you are satisfied with your current plans, no forms need to be submitted.  - J.
