THIRD QUARTER EXEMPT NOTICES

All notes to excuse "Column B" type absences must be turned in to the Attendance Coordinator by Friday, March 19.  No exceptions.  Make it a practice to turn in requests for Column B absences promptly after your return. - M. Yamashita

LIKO A'E SCHOLARSHIP PRESENTATION

Hawaiian seniors interested in applying for the Liko A'e Scholarship please stop by C101 to sign up for a pass and to receive the essay questions.  A representative from Liko A'e will be in the computer Lab on April 7, 2004 to help you with the online application.  Essay questions must be completed prior to April 7.  Mahalo - K. ATTENTION UNDERCLASSMEN

Anyone interested in auditioning for the position of emcee for Commencement 2004, please see Ms. Kruse at B-203 to sign up at now through March 17.  Auditions will be held when we return from spring break.  Commencement is on Saturday, June 5.   - J. Kruse

STUDENTS:

Next school year (2004-05), a Driver's Ed class will be scheduled during the early morning hours of 7:15 a to 8:05 a, four days a week, for both semesters.  This morning class is open to all students who have registered for the course as well as to students who did not register due to having schedule conflicts during the school day.  Interested students may see Mrs. Nekoba in the Registrar's office to sign up.  Deadline is March 17. - J. BIG ISLAND PRESS CLUB:  for seniors with a clear interest for a career in journalism or a related field.  Personal statement, transcript, SAT/ACT scores & work samples required.  Applications available in GRAC.  Value:  $500 - $1,500.  Deadline:  June 15th.

ARMED FORCES COMMUNICATIONS & ELECTRONICS ASSOCIATION:  for seniors entering computer science, information technology, engrineering or hard science (physics, math) curriculums.  Personal statement of 300 words or less concerning career goals & two letters of recommendation required.  Applications available in GRAC.  Value:  $2,000.  Deadline:  receipt by June 14th.

HAWAII SHIMA HIROSHIMA KENJIN KAI:  for seniors of good moral character, with above average GPA, whose parent or grandparent is a member of the Hawaii Shima Hiroshima Kenjin Kai.  Parents financial statement, personal statement & transcript required.  Applications available in GRAC.  Value:  2 - $,1000 scholarships.  Deadline:  April 10th.   - T. TEEN VOICES:  POSITIVE CHOICES, 2004!

The TAPPPS community team is sponsoring an essay contest to recognize the month of May as "National Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Month."  Prizes will be awarded.  Deadline for entries is April 8, 2004 to Mrs. Yamanaka in U102.  Please see her for additional information. - R. Yamanaka

Any Lost and Found item will be kept for 45 days then disposed of or donated to a charitible organization.  If you want to claim an item see me at GRAC.  Some items found are books,  bike, body board, skateboard, bags, jewelry, CD's, watches, sunglasses, shoes, jackets, sweaters, backpacks, clothing and towels.   - S. The Sr. Prom Committee meeting that was supposed to be held on Monday is postponed to Thrusday, March 18 during morning recess in H-105.  Attendance is mandatory, if you are unable to attend see Ms. Kelly in H-105 before Thursday.  The Sr. Prom is this Sunday!!! - K. Kelly
